For anyone who wants to learn some tips and tricks for making your child a life-long reader, The New York Times book section published a wonderful article called How to Raise a Reader. In the article, one of the things they write about is the importance of choosing diverse books for your child. They write that “All children need to see themselves reflected in the picture books around them” and that “exposing children to diversity in books will prepare them for life in a diverse world”.  Every parent will find a great nugget of wisdom for sparking a love of reading in your child, age 0 and beyond. You can find the article here and if you’re looking for a few diverse books, check out our post 10 Black Children’s Books My Son Loves  which includes our book about fathers of color, Daddy Can.

The Kickstarter campaign for the book is still going! You still have time to donate here. Enjoy!
